Location: Seoul, Korea

We are looking for a HR manager to handle all things people-related and help us make our vision a reality. The position requires a self-starter with phenomenal communication skills, excellent problem analysis/resolution, employee relations, training, and customer service skills. You will partner with country managers in the U.S., Japan, and Korea to help develop and drive the people strategy and execute on the resulting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the team to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Identify commonalities across regions / teams & scale as needed
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Payroll processing and management
  • Preparing entries utilizing accrual accounting to record payroll, freight and capital expenditures
  • Resolves employee relations issues
  • Establish a recruiting and interviewing program; screens candidates, updates job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Coordinating pre-employment, and on-boarding procedures
  • Contacts applicants’ references and performs background checks required by the company
  • Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and Company. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or requested
  • Ensure regulatory compliance pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborates with the legal department when necessary
  • Conducts and analyzes exit interviews

Required skills & experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years of full-time work experience in Human Resources positions
  • Superior personal, written, and phone communication skills in Korean
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and deadlines
  • Experience working as a small business bookkeeper
  • Familiar with Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
  • Familiar with Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira)
  • Quickly learns new technology and software programs
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage projects in an extremely fast-paced environment

Desired qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Ghost blogging platform
  • Fluent in Japanese is a plus
