7 Great Collaboration Tools for Virtual Teams

Check out all the tools we use to collaborate at Allganize.

7 Great Collaboration Tools for Virtual Teams

Allganize is a virtual team of nine members scattered around the world in four different cities. Here’re seven great collaboration tools that we have found to help us be more efficient and productive.

1. G Suite

No need to explain more - Google Slides, Docs, Sheets are blessing for virtual teams like us. I would highly recommend to share any documents with comment enabled, and encourage your teammates to share feedback more often and casually.

2. Slack

If I could use only one online messenger platform for the rest of my life, this would  be my pick without hesitation. Pin any message in a chat, share files any time. To maximize the benefit of using Slack, I would recommend making Channels as your main playground, not direct messages. The tool is meant to share in no time.

3. Zeplin

It is difficult to weigh in and provide feedback on designs when the team is not seating next to you. With Zeplin, you can add your comments anywhere on the screen. Designers can export Photoshop PSD files into the Zeplin platform, to easily import project to Zeplin and generate style guide. Zeplin can help your whole team design efficiently.

4. Allganize

Ok, it’s not about advertising our own product. We actually use this every day. Always be on the top of the latest documents  without hopping around all the document platforms - such as email, Google Drive, JIRA, Confluence, etc. Not to mention the convenience of searching over any documents in any platform in one place, without even knowing the keyword to look for.

5. Zoom

There’s a lot of other options to make video calls, but Zoom provides the most stable video platform I've ever used. UI/UX is simple and intuitive on both  desktop app and  mobile app. Forget about bad video conferencing call quality and poor user experience.

6. JIRA

Jira is by far the most popular project management tool for software development today. It helps virtual teams collaborate and stay informed of every stage of product development. Of course the best part of using Atlassian product is that you can customize your way to use this fabulous tool with variety of add-ons on the Atlassian Marketplace.

7. Confluence

Another essential Atlassian tool. In a virtual work environment, you can't see your colleagues and you don't get responses immediately. With Confluence, you can upload any information on the Confluence so anyone can access to company knowledge.

There are a lot of collaboration tools on the market but these are my favorite that I use every day. Give them a try, if you haven't already!
