Front-end Engineer (US)

Location: Remote, Greater Houston Area or San Francisco Bay Area

We are looking for an experienced front-end engineer to join our interface team. You will help bring wireframes and designs to life across all areas of our products. You are expected to participate in all aspects of our product cycle and make a real impact on the future of the company. You should be obsessed with improving user experience, able to produce high-quality output at a high velocity, self-disciplined and self-motivated.

This is a remote position while you must be able to work in Pacific Standards Time (PST). Since this massive pandemic turned the world and our lives to remote, we will continue to be "Remote First/Safety First" for our employees.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and customer team to deliver user facing features quickly
• Develop, test, document, and maintain web applications and interactions with back-end services
• Follow UX guidelines to build responsive and mobile compliant applications
• Troubleshoot production issues
• Participate in wireframe, design, and code reviews
• Help define and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines, platforms, and development standards
• Research emerging front end technologies and provide recommendations for enhancing existing products

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience shipping client-side JavaScript applications
• Expertise in HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS3), JavaScript across libraries (interactive development), such as React, and NodeJS
• Experience using data exchange technologies like JSON
• Knowledge of web performance optimization and debugging practices
• Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility
• Firm understanding of UI/UX principles
• Knowledge of responsive design
• Experience in unit testing / integration testing / e2e testing
• Familiarity with fundamental SEO principles
• Basic understanding of browser internals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a front-end engineer
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of/exposure to machine learning concepts is a plus
• Fluent in Japanese or Korean is a plus
• Open source experience is a plus
